Korean Wave, or Hallyu, refers to the global popularity of South Korea’s cultural economy exporting pop culture, entertainment, music, TV dramas and movies.
Interestingly this Korean Wave, or K-Wave has now expanded to food industry whereby food chains serving Korean food have grown tremendously. In Malaysia, this K-Wave has gained momentum over the years by the establishment of Korean food outlets, or K-Food, like Kyo-Chon, Seoul Garden, Dorae Korean BBQ Restaurant, Gangnam88, and of course Mr Dakgalbi.
According to KL Foodie Wesbite, the Mr Dakgalbi menu is one of the “10 Best Korean Restaurants in KL”, due to its “juicy tender chicken that are prepared live in front of you”. Customers can also add on cheese ring, ramen (noodles), fried rice or even topokki at the hot plate, making it a wow factor for most. This unique proposition, couple with the K-Wave trend, makes Mr Dakgalbi a must-try for the young and trendy Malaysians.
